WALK TALK
The fall weather is here and the walk of the week is Yoonjin! He was born in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up in Hong Kong, Connecticut, New Jersey, (another town in) Connecticut, and New York City. Take a walk with him along Houston St to the East River (and an exciting detour you'll discover along the way). Click here for the map, and hit play below to join him for a mile. The weather is beautiful. Who cares about the rules, you keep those white pants on and take a walk with us this weekend! The Walk of the Week takes place along Houston St. starting in the middle of the island and going all the way to the East River. The walker, Jax, describes it this way, "Eat a knish with me! I'll share rambling thoughts about NYC, nature, children, and being trans as I walk along with you on Houston St." So click here to get the map and get going. This Walk of the Week is a two for one. Bill and Michael are a married couple who live in the same East Village apartment they did back in the 1980s. They took the walk together, making separate recordings. Grab a friend this weekend and take the walk together, each listening to one of these recordings. Bill offers some excellent history of the neighborhood and Michael sees many of the changes that recent years brought. Click here to check out the map and enjoy Washington Square and the East Village past and present with Bill and Michael. |
